Other Vital Memory Card Information
When it comes to memory cards, you should be aware that they are also available in different speed class ratings. These speed ratings range from 2, 4, 6 and 10. These numbers are there to indicate how quickly data is read or written to the given memory card.
.
- Class 2 – Minimum of 2 MB/s performance. (Slowest)
- Class 4 – Minimum of 4 MB/s performance. (Average)
- Class 6 – Minimum of 6 MB/s performance. (Above Average)
- Class 10 – Minimum of 10 MB/s performance. (Fastest)
The slower speed cards will be able to work just fine in the HTC Desire S. If you have plans to use your memory card directly in your computer, then you need to be sure that the card reader there will be able to read SDHC cards. If you have a look at some of the older model card readers, many of them will not be able to read high capacity memory cards. If you realize that you have no SDHC support on your computer, then you will have to buy a new card reader. These kinds of devices are not very expensive and you can really get them for under $15. What about the video recording in 720p. What is the memory class recommended for the Desire S while recording? Or it has nothing to do with it?
If you are recording 720P video with the Desire S, the Class 2 cards from Sandisk will work perfectly. We know people with those phones and they have not had any issued with Class 2 Memory cards.
For 720p recording go for the biggest and fastest card you can get. I have and htc evo shift and I use a #16gig class 6 card
