Best Memory Cards for the HTC Sensation |
HTC Sensation Memory Card Types
There are 2 different types of memory cards that the HTC Sensation can use.
- Micro SD – This memory card format can hold up to 4GB of music, movies, video and pictures.
- Micro SDHC– This memory card that can hold up to 32GB of music, movies, video and pictures.
I must admit, there seems to be a bit of confusion when it comes to MicroSD and MicroSDHC cards. In the bigger picture, these memory cards are essentially the same thing. The only difference is that they have different storage sizes.
Micro SD cards can hold up to 4GB worth of music, movies, video and pictures.
Micro SDHC cards can hold up to 32GB worth of music, movies, video and pictures.
Other Vital Memory Card Information
Looking on the memory cards, you may often see #’s on its body. These #’s 2, 4, 6 and 10 represent how quickly data can be written and read from the card.
- Class 2 – Minimum of 2 MB/s performance. (Slowest)
- Class 4 – Minimum of 4 MB/s performance. (Average)
- Class 6 – Minimum of 6 MB/s performance. (Above Average)
- Class 10 – Minimum of 10 MB/s performance. (Fastest)
Class 2 and 4 cards should be ok for use in the ChaCha. If you will be using these MicroSD/SDHC cards in a camera (With the SD adapter), then you better go for the faster speeds, especially if you will be recording HD video. The slower class 2 and 4 cards will give you an error if you use them for these high data demanding devices.
Do I Need a Memory Card for My HTC Sensation?
Generally, any HTC Sensation you purchase comes with a memory card. The memory card size may be a 1GB or 2GB. More than likely you are going to want to put your mp3 collection in the phone and will be taking quite a few videos and pictures. In a case like this, you will definitely need to get a bigger card for the phone. There is nothing worse than having a memory card that is full and you need more space.

*Compatibility Issues
If you are one of those people who will be using the memory card in the computer to transfer images, movies and videos, then you need to check and see if the computer has the ability to read SDHC cards. Some computer models will have regular SD card readers and because of this, they’ll definitely not be able to read high-capacity memory cards. If you check and you realize that there is no SDHC support, then you will have to go out and get yourself a card reader. These devices are not expensive and you can get them for under $15. I have an HTC Sensation and last night I tried to make more room on my cell phone. I deleted cookies, old pictures after downloading those to my pc, old emails, old sms, apps I don’t use, and cleared caches. I still hardly made a dent on available memory. I have an sd card and I moved as many apps as I could to it and that didn’t make much room either. What am I missing, please help. I would rather try and make this phone work rather then calling it quits to soon and buying another phone. Thank you.
